With the series of Sakura paintings, I tried to find a better understanding of feeling closeness with myself. So I just decided to create a piece for myself, to make something that would give me a feeling of serenity and calmness every day; something for my little peaceful place where I love to enjoy my tea and read a book, and have a moment of stillness in a busy life.
Also, to have time to think and embark on my journey of thoughts and feelings while working on this piece. That's how Pearl was born. And it felt so good and sweet that poetry and the feeling of serenity has continued into a whole series of paintings. The process of creating it was itself very joyous, slow, and simply mindful.
